Vodafone Turkey Foundation Pioneered the Digitalization of Social Life in 2021
Vodafone Turkey Foundation also continued its activities regarding its vision of "Technology for Good" in 2021. The Foundation reached 4,2 million people in 14 years and supported 16 projects with a value of 104,3 million TRY. While helping over 210,000 children learn to code with the "Coding Tomorrow" project, the Foundation also provided Digital Literacy and Digital Marketing training to over 5,000 women with the "Connected Women" project.
Working to become the pioneer of social change and development, the Vodafone Turkey Foundation continued to clear the obstacles in front of those who could not sufficiently leverage the opportunities of social life or exist in economic life in 2021 as well. Working with the vision of "Technology for Good", Vodafone Turkey Foundation was established as one of the 27 Vodafone Foundations worldwide. In the last 14 years, the Foundation has reached 4,2 million people,1,1 million youngsters and children, and 950,000 women. Within this period, the Foundation supported 16 projects with a real value of 104,3 million TRY.

Over 210,000 children learned how to code
The "Coding Tomorrow" project, implemented by Vodafone Turkey Foundation in collaboration with Habitat Association, where children aged 7-14 across Turkey receive coding training, has reached over 210,000 children with 550 volunteers since August 2016. 680 children and youngsters participated in 6 hackathons held in the last year of the project, where each investment of 1 TRY for the project yielded a social return of 4,4 TRY. Within the project's scope, the Foundation established technology classes in rural schools in 30 provinces. Equipped with laptops, 3D printers, 3D pencils, and STEM and science education sets, these classes aim to reach 6,000 children and 2,500 parents, including the surrounding villages, with 60 teachers in one year.
Sustainability training for students
In 2021, Vodafone Turkey Foundation also launched the "Green Planet" sustainability project to raise awareness in various fields for students aged 7-14 in different provinces of Turkey. Implemented in collaboration with Habitat Association, the projects will provide students online training on climate change, recycling, electronic waste recycling, sustainability, and natural disasters. Following the training, the project's participants will join an idea marathon. In the first stage, the project aims to reach 1,000 students with 50 volunteer trainers.
Over 5,000 women learned digitalization
In 2021, Vodafone Turkey Foundation continued to bring women together with the opportunities of the digital world. Launched in collaboration with the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning, Vodafone Turkey Foundation's "Connected Women" project provided Digital Literacy and Digital Marketing training to women over 18. The project reached over 5,000 women with 140 trainers in 13 provinces. Also, Vodafone employed 43 women who completed the training within Vodafone Customer Services. While the project achieved 5 million TRY of social value in the last year, each investment of 1 TRY for the project yielded a social return of 5 TRY. The project aims to train 12,000 women in 20 provinces until the end of 2022.
"Easy Rescue" has been downloaded 371,000 times
In 2021, Vodafone Turkey Foundation continued to support the protection of women from domestic violence by leveraging the power of technology. Implemented by the Foundation seven years ago with the support of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the"Easy Rescue" application has been downloaded 371,000 times and reached 1,465 monthly active users. The interface of the Easy Rescue, which allows women to swiftly reach the police or their relatives in a moment of violence, has also been upgraded to ensure users access and use most of the app features more conveniently and readily.
