Vodafone Foundation and "Life Restorer" Hasan Kızıl Launch a Special Initiative for Disabled Animals
Vodafone Foundation, in collaboration with "Life Restorer" Hasan Kızıl, is creating new opportunities for disabled animals by providing them with wheelchairs and prosthetics through hands-on events. As part of the project, a wheelchair-making workshop led by Hasan Kızıl was organized with the participation of Vodafone Volunteers. Additionally, Vodafone Volunteers visited HAÇİKO Farm, where they called for the adoption of animals in need.
Partnering with renowned animal activist and "Life Restorer" project manager Hasan Kızıl, the Vodafone Foundation is committed to offering mobility solutions to disabled animals. The project's first event was held at Vodafone Plaza, where Vodafone Volunteers, guided by Hasan Kızıl, crafted wheelchairs for disabled animals using recyclable materials. The project took inspiration from Fiona, a disabled dog who received a custom-made prosthetic. Following Fiona, more disabled dogs and cats will receive wheelchairs, thanks to the continued efforts of Vodafone Foundation and Hasan Kızıl.
Türkiye Vodafone Foundation Chair Hasan Süel stated:
"At Vodafone Foundation, we strive to connect people through technology while also ensuring that our animal friends are not forgotten. To help disabled animals regain their mobility, we organized a wheelchair-making workshop under the leadership of ‘Life Restorer’ Hasan Kızıl, with the participation of our volunteers. Witnessing Fiona, who was once abandoned by a roadside, take her first steps was truly inspiring. Our mission is to positively impact the lives of more animals, and we will continue working to improve their well-being in the future."
"Life Restorer" Hasan Kızıl added:
"Fiona’s unwavering hope and resilience are the true driving force of this project. Her story serves as a reminder that no living being should ever be left without hope. Together with Vodafone Foundation, we are working to help more disabled animals regain their ability to walk."
Visit to HAÇİKO Farm
As part of the initiative, Vodafone Volunteers visited HAÇİKO Farm, where they explored the facility, learned about its operations, assembled dismantled cat houses, and engaged with the animals. By sharing their experiences on social media, the volunteers further supported HAÇİKO’s mission to find homes for the animals in need.
