The "Easy Rescue" application, developed by the Vodafone Turkey Foundation seven years ago to aid the protection of women against violence, has a brand new design. Easy Rescue's new design allows users to access many app features readily and contains more information and thorough recommendations.
Working to be the pioneer of social change and development, Vodafone Turkey Foundation, with the support of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, launched the "Easy Rescue" application seven years ago to aid the protection of women against violence. Now, the application introduces its brand new design. The interface of Easy Rescue, which allows women to swiftly reach the police or their relatives in a moment of violence and has been downloaded by 358,000 users, has been upgraded to ensure users access and use most of the app features more conveniently and readily. The new interface also includes more information and detailed recommendations.
Mr. Hasan Süel, the Chair of Vodafone Turkey Foundation , stated:
"Violence against women is a crucial global issue. The World Bank describes violence against women as a global epidemic that affects one out of every three women in their lifetime. We believe that using technology can be highly effective in combating violence against women, which is a severe violation of human rights and a major social issue. With this vision, we developed the 'Easy Rescue' application, which allows women to swiftly reach the police or their relatives in a moment of violence. With this application, our goal is to provide first aid to victims quicker and easier and create a preventive effect. Until today, 'Easy Rescue' has been downloaded 358,000 times, reaching 1,465 monthly active users. We constantly update our application based on user reviews and feedback. While establishing new features, we also perform comprehensive needs research with our stakeholders. Recently, we have developed a more user-friendly design and updated the interface of our application. Users can now access and use most of our app's features more conveniently and effortlessly. Easy Rescue will continue to be an easy-to-learn and use application with its new interface. Nevertheless, we hope we will not need to use this app in the future."
Innovative interface touches
The "Easy Rescue" application's latest design stands out with its innovative features. In this regard, the application was upgraded with unique designs where five screens (Home Page, Support, Emergency, Details, Settings) are displayed particularly for the navigation bar, providing information about what operations users can perform on these pages. The Home Page screen in the navigation bar contains up-to-date information, surveys, and videos. Also, the Map page now includes Violence Prevention and Monitoring Centers (ŞÖNİM) heading. Accordingly, when users click the info button next to the ŞÖNİM Centers heading, they can see what ŞÖNİM is and what kind of support it provides. Also, it is designed so that users can see their location when they click the page and the closest ŞÖNİM Centers together. The cards on the Details page have also been upgraded to display the images and text one under the other. Also, the menu titles have been improved with icons and descriptions by including the Settings heading in the navigation bar.
Emergency numbers are just one click away
The "Easy Rescue" application allows users to register three individuals to be reached in an emergency with a single click. The application also enables a single-click call to the emergency numbers of Alo 183, 155 Police Emergency, and 156 Gendarmerie and Domestic Violence Emergency Helpline. Moreover, the application displays the addresses and telephone numbers of the nearest Centers for Prevention and Monitoring Violence, operating under the Ministry of Family and Social Services, via the map. Users can also access information regarding what to do when exposed to violence. Android users can pin the emergency SMS and emergency call functions to the home pages of their phones and access these functions via a single click in an emergency. The VoiceOver accessibility option for iOS users and the TalkBack accessibility option for Android users have been added to all "Easy Rescue" functions. This new add-on allows reading an item selected by touch and provides voice feedback to visually impaired women. You can download the "Easy Rescue" application for free from Apple Store and Google Play.
