Vodafone Turkey has launched a new program to improve the awareness of the employees about volunteering. With the program launched under the roof of “Vodafone Volunteers”, volunteer work permits will be provided for 2 days a year to make it easier for Vodafone employees to join volunteering activities. Vodafone employees will contribute to Vodafone Turkey Foundation’s corporate social responsibility projects during their work permits. Vodafone Turkey also will continue the sense of volunteerism with all-year-round activities.
“We want to make all our employees become a Vodafone volunteer”
Vodafone Turkey Executive Vice President Pinar Kalay stated that they were pioneering the civil society and the social responsibility problems to widen the volunteerism approach, and she continued:
“We also encourage volunteerism among Vodafone Turkey employees. With our ‘Vodafone Volunteers’ program, we improve the participation of our employees in our social responsibility projects and we find their contributions very valuable. We want to establish an emotional connection between our social responsibility projects and our employees. We also want our employees to have experiences of touching different people’s lives. More than 60 percent of Vodafone Turkey employees are consisted of Generation Y. We want to inform our employees about our volunteering activities and to make them be a part of these projects. However, all our employees can participate in the Vodafone Volunteers program. They may give training to the young people who are studying at the ‘Dreams Academy’, provide coding training for children within the scope of our ‘Coding Tomorrow’ project, be a mentor and support women’s participation to economy within the project ‘Women First in Entrepreneurship’. They can also organize various donation campaigns and contribute to our ‘a better future’ goal.”
