A Number Of Women Contributing To Economy Will Increase With Women First In Entrepreneurship Mobile Application.

In the third year of “Women First in Entrepreneurship” project carried out with the cooperation of Ministry of National Education, Vodafone Turkey Foundation and Turkish Informatics Foundation, a new mobile application is developed to make the life easier for women entrepreneurs. Women will be able to get classroom trainings online using the Women First in Entrepreneurship Mobile Application. Additionally, they will be able to upload their products to the digital store via this app.

“Women First in Entrepreneurship” project keeps supporting the attendance of women into social an economic life by using the power of technology. Within the scope of “Women First in Entrepreneurship” project, carried out three years ago with the cooperation of Ministry of National Education, Vodafone Turkey Foundation and Turkish Informatics Foundation, a mobile application is developed to reach more women and increase technology usage penetration. Women trainees will be able to get classroom trainings online and upload their products to the digital store via Women First in Entrepreneurship Mobile Application.  Within the scope of “Women First in Entrepreneurship” project, Vodafone Turkey Foundation has reached more than 26.000 women in 20 cities with classroom trainings and now aims to reach Public Education Center member women entrepreneurs in 81 cities by carrying these trainings into the digital environment.

Women First in Entrepreneurship Mobile Application was introduced in a meeting with the attendance of Ministry of National Education, Lifetime Learning General Directorate and Projects Head of Department Murat Aşım, Vodafone Turkey Foundation Chairman Hasan Süel, famous model and presenter Çağla Şıkel and Women First in Entrepreneurship attendee Enhar Doğan.

“We must include the potential and power of women into our economy.”

Giving the opening speech of the meeting, Ministry of National Education, Lifetime Learning General Directorate and Projects Head of Department Murat Aşım stated: 

“The aim of “Women First in Entrepreneurship” project is to develop the entrepreneurship capabilities of women with limited access to social and economic life, increasing employment rates and socio-economic opportunities. With this project, women will step into entrepreneurship, and by selling their handmade products on the Internet, contribute to the economy. Although the rate of women contributing to the economy makes us happy, as you would appreciate it is not satisfactory. We should include the potential and power of women much more into our economy. With this target, we aim to reach more women from 81 cities and provide training with the help of mobile technologies. As the Lifetime Learning General Directorate, we are very enthusiastic to bring lifetime entrepreneur women in Turkey together with our partners.”

Underlining the meaning of women contributing to the economy as “powerful woman, powerful family, powerful society”, Vodafone Turkey Foundation Chairman Hasan Süel stated: 

“As Vodafone Turkey Foundation, we find it very important to encourage women for entrepreneurship and to be a part of the economy as entrepreneurs. While we have been carrying out “Women First in Entrepreneurship” project with our esteemed project partners for three years, we targeted to raise powerful women who set up their business and even generate employment. Today, we are very proud of creating 43 million TL economic worth by providing training to more than 26.000 women in 20 cities. We continue our project with the same excitement on the first day and work very hard to increase our reach. By taking along the power of technology, we developed the Women First in Entrepreneurship Mobile Application to reach much more women and increase technology usage penetration. With the application, we provide women with online training, as well as the possibility of uploading product into our digital store. As Vodafone Turkey Foundation, we will carry on investing in women for social opportunities and create employment.”

“Women First in Entrepreneurship project is a precious project which I also appreciate personally. It supports women’s employment and entrepreneurship. Until now, it supported the contribution of many women into the economy. These women have the chance to contribute to the family budget, as well as gain self-confidence. They began to feel much more powerful and capable. This is very important. Because when you provide women with opportunities, they can be very productive as long as we hold their hands and steer them correctly. It is especially an important need in our country to support women. Because of this, I wish the number of projects such as “Women First in Entrepreneurship” will increase as well as the opportunities presented to our women across the whole country.

Enhar Doğan, project attendee and Women First in Entrepreneurship Competition winner of last year has stated: 

“I am 50 years old — also, a housewife. At the same time, I produce leather bags and purses. I married right away after I graduated from university. I have two children. As I dedicated myself to my family, I never had the chance to work. Three years ago, my husband was diagnosed with renal impairment. To be able to support my family during our tough transplantation marathon, I tend towards my bags. During this difficult time, I participated in the “Women First in Entrepreneurship” project via Pamukkale Public Education Center. I was chosen as the winner in the Women First in Entrepreneurship Competition. Using the lifeline fund, I opened my own atelier. Now, I open the door of my atelier with my own keys. Since I took place in the project, I can reach a broader audience, as well as taking much more confident steps for my job.

Moreover, now, I will be able to upload my products to the website easily with the Women First in Entrepreneurship Mobile Application. Women First in Entrepreneurship project is an excellent opportunity for women who struggle to work and produce. I want to take the opportunity to thank all parties who have taken place in this meaningful project.”

Online training for women in smartphones

With Women First in Entrepreneurship Mobile Application, it is targeted to reach women who have never taken place in Women First in Entrepreneurship project or Public Education Centers, as well as women who have completed vocational education in Public Education Centers but have not started selling products yet and women who are already active in the project. The application provides classroom trainings about entrepreneurship and technology which were given in Public Education Centers previously to the participants of the project. Additionally, women who completed the vocational education in Public Education Centers and fulfilled entrepreneurship and technology training with this app, can upload their products into the digital store in oncekadin.gov.tr and follow them up in the profile page of the application. Women can also apply the Women First in Entrepreneurship Competition held every year via the mobile app. 

Both in iOS and Android stores

Women First in Entrepreneurship Mobile Application can be downloaded for free from iOS and Android stores. After the download, sign up steps should be completed on the homepage. In the next steps, the app can be used by following the directions in the pages opened per designated usage purpose. 

26.000 women were reached in 2 years

Aiming to the contribution of women in economic life and increasing their entrepreneurship capabilities, Women First in Entrepreneurship project has reached more than 26.000 women in 2 years, providing technology and entrepreneurship training in Public Education Centers and creating approximately 43 Million TL worth. Women who attended the training can use the digital store on oncekadin.gov.tr to sell their product and generate income. Until so far, 32.000 adverts were given in the digital store, and sales that have been made reached more than 210.000 TL.
